Job Summary

Harrison Western is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team for a Utility Shaft/Mine project. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for performing electrical repairs, installations, inspections, and preventative maintenance of electrical lines, machinery, and equipment in and out of the shaft.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take direction from the Master Electrician and perform installation and maintenance on electric mining equipment and facilities.
  • Perform PLC/circuit board troubleshooting and install DC Drives and VFDs.
  • Install cables and J-boxes in the shaft and understand electrical schematics to install accordingly.
  • Perform high-voltage installation and switching.
  • Assist Top lander, Miners, and Mechanics when not performing essential electrical duties.
Requirements
  • Ability to take direction from supervision and recognize hazards and safety risks.
  • Familiarity with equipment and tools required for the position and ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and MSHA Electrical certification.
  • Ability to work in a standing, seated, or other physical positions and have own hand tools.
  • Shaft experience is a plus.
