Park Recreation Attendant

The City of Des Moines, Iowa is seeking a friendly and outgoing individual to join our team as a Park Recreation Attendant. This is a seasonal position that offers a unique opportunity to work in a variety of settings, from outdoor recreation to event management.

About the Job:
This role involves performing a variety of tasks, including cashiering duties, event setup, and maintenance of park facilities. As a Park Recreation Attendant, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service to the public and ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all visitors.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform cashiering duties at various Parks and Recreation facilities and events
- Set up and tear down event equipment, including tables, chairs, and tents
- Maintain park facilities, including cleaning restrooms and disposing of trash
- Assist with event planning and coordination
- Collaborate with other team members to achieve event goals and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction

Estimated Salary: $12-$15 per hour (based on experience)

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous customer service or retail experience preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic math skills and accuracy when handling cash transactions

Work Schedule:
- This is a seasonal position that may run from November to March, depending on weather conditions
- May require working outdoors in various weather conditions, including cold temperatures and inclement weather
