Position Overview:


We are currently seeking an Assistant Corporate Controller to enhance our high-performing accounting team.

This position is integral to the accounting department, responsible for managing all elements related to financial reporting, including the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements for executive management.

The Assistant Corporate Controller ensures compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and emphasizes detail orientation, accuracy, and process enhancement. Experience in construction and percentage of completion accounting is preferred. Proven track record in a growing organization with increasing responsibilities is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee adherence to the company's accounting policies and controls in alignment with GAAP. Collaborate with the Corporate Controller and CFO to manage the Accounting Department's operations.

Maintain a comprehensive system of accounting policies and procedures; implement controls over transactions to mitigate risk.

Partner with operational teams to ensure proper procedures are established and adhered to.

Support the financial reporting process, ensuring timely and reliable reporting.

Assist in the establishment, monitoring, and enforcement of policies, procedures, and internal controls.

Ensure accuracy and integrity of the General Ledger, managing necessary entries to reflect monthly activities.


What You Will Do:


Handle full cycle accounting, including monthly close and all balance sheet account reconciliations (accruals, accounts receivable, accounts payable, PPE, prepaids, operating expenses, and intercompany transactions).

Ensure timely and accurate completion of all monthly closing entries and reconciliations.

Conduct analyses of balance sheet accounts and maintain monthly reconciliations for all accounts.

Daily maintenance and reconciliation of bank accounts, addressing any discrepancies.

Maintain fixed asset schedules and reconcile PPE monthly, ensuring timely transactions.

Prepare and manage month-end accruals and reconcile vendor statements as necessary.

Maintain recurring journal entries and post adjusting entries monthly.

Review indirect and SGA accounts for unusual activity and report findings.

Prepare and coordinate maintenance of business licenses, ensuring compliance with governmental requirements.

Coordinate with external tax preparers for federal and state tax payments.

Assist in all aspects of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and preparation of financial statements with commentary.

Support internal and IRS audits as required.

Engage in special projects and reports as needed.

Troubleshoot and resolve transactional errors in the ERP system.


Your Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required, with a solid understanding of GAAP.
CPA certification or CPA track is strongly preferred.
4-7+ years of progressive accounting experience is essential.
Experience with Sage 100 or Sage 300 accounting software is preferred. Knowledge of percentage of completion accounting is highly desirable.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Suite is required.
Experience with multi-site reporting and management is a plus.
