Job Opportunity

B.L. Harbert International, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Project Controls Engineer to join our team.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will work closely with our project managers, superintendents, and material suppliers to refine project execution schedules and monitor critical path progress.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule Management: Prepare and update project schedules, reports, and short-term look-ahead schedules for BLHI field forces and subcontractors.
  • Performance Monitoring: Record and report actual performance progress and forecast completion of work based on performance to date.
  • Change Management: Evaluate potential time impacts from change issues or unanticipated conditions in the field.
  • Procurement Support: Prepare and maintain BLHI's procurement logs to assist in planning and execution of material procurement.
  • Cost and Time Analysis: Assist the project manager and project engineer to analyze cost and potential time issues associated with RFP's.
Requirements
  • US citizen
  • Ability to periodically travel abroad to project sites
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance through the US Government
  • Undergraduate Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or related field
  • 5+ years' experience and training in scheduling and planning construction projects
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in scheduling and planning construction projects using Primavera P6
  • Experience in Department of Defense or Department of State projects
  • Experience in USACE or OBO projects overseas

Physical Demands
  • Ability to repetitively use hands to grasp, reach above and below with arms, and work overhead
  • Ability to stand, sit, walk, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, climb, bend, balance, and twist for extended periods
  • Ability to frequently lift, carry, and/or move up to 25 pounds of weight in the form of paper, boxes, files, etc.
  • Manual dexterity to utilize and operate construction tools and/or construction equipment and machinery
  • High degree of concentration necessary in a busy office environment
Work Environment
  • Ability to work in an office environment and periodically on construction sites overseas
  • Exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration
  • Occasional exposure to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites, including frequent loud noises
  • Flexibility with hours to accommodate business needs
