Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Intervention Developmental Specialist to join our team at LifeROOTS. As a key member of our Children's and Therapy Services department, you will play a vital role in supporting families and children with developmental needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide service coordination and developmental specialist services to families and children referred to the early intervention program at LifeROOTS.
  • Assist families through the intake and eligibility determination process, and facilitate the IFPS process through transition.
  • Provide information about and make referrals to other community resources, and coordinate and ensure the delivery of all services.
  • Design and implement learning environments and planned activities that promote healthy development and skill acquisition in children.
  • Maintain individual records, including daily notes, billing information, IFSP information, and evaluation reports.
  • Provide assessments on the disability or ability of a child, and help with their plan of education and behavior modification techniques.
  • Work with families to enhance their child's development and address all developmental areas, including cognitive, communication, physical/motor, social/emotional, and adaptive development.
  • Participate as a member of a transdisciplinary team and work with staff to contribute to planning and program development.
  • Supervise Developmental Specialist I staff members and maintain clean, pleasant, and safe classroom conditions.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Early Childhood Education, Counseling, or a related field.
  • Developmental Specialist Certification in accordance with FIT Program regulations NMAC and DDSD policy.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Early Intervention and/or NM FIT Program.
  • Completion of required training and participation in recent continuing education programs related to Children's Therapy Services.
  • Fundamental understanding of LifeROOTS, Inc. policies.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage one's time and the time of others well.
  • Monitoring and assessment skills to improve performance.
  • Service orientation and commitment to company values.
Conditions of Employment
  • Fingerprinting, DOH, and CYFD background check, and drug screen.
  • Valid and current driver's license, good driving record, and current proof of automobile insurance.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
