We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Childhood Teacher to join our team at the Pueblo of Sandia. As a key member of our education department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality educational programming for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years. Your primary focus will be on creating a nurturing and engaging learning environment that promotes the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of our young students.
Key Responsibilities- Design and implement developmentally appropriate educational programs for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years.
- Provide daily documentation to families on the care and progress of their children.
- Use a variety of tools to document and report children's academic, social, emotional, and physical growth.
- Interact with parents as partners and hold regular conferences to facilitate the design of age-appropriate developmental and educational goals.
- Implement a research-based curriculum model for long-term planning and use approved lesson planning processes.
- Design developmentally appropriate learning environments to promote quality learning experiences.
- Assist service providers with referrals and documentation to identify needed specialized services.
- Support nutrition goals and family-style eating models.
- Participate in planned professional development training opportunities.
- Ensure that all learning environments meet tribal health and safety codes and promote healthy lifestyle choices for children and their families.
- Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education from an accredited college or university.
- Two years' experience in an Early Childhood setting.
- First Aid and CPR Certification.
- Ability to pass a Background and Character Investigation.
This position requires working indoors and outdoors, with exposure to temperature extremes and inclement weather conditions. The ability to lift at least 30 pounds and perform physical tasks such as walking, standing, and crouching is also required.
