Position Overview:

The Chief Quality Officer (CQO) at St. Luke's Health System is a pivotal physician leader dedicated to enhancing clinical excellence throughout the organization.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate closely with the VP of Quality Operations to co-create and execute the strategic framework for quality and safety within the organization.
  • Establish long-term objectives, define key performance indicators, and spearhead initiatives that resonate with St. Luke's mission.
  • Oversee the evaluation, analysis, and reporting of performance metrics pertinent to quality initiatives, ensuring that the health system achieves its quality goals while identifying opportunities for enhancement through regular assessments.
  • Co-lead the implementation of the organization's high reliability strategy, promoting a culture of safety and dependability aimed at minimizing errors and improving patient care.
  • Act as a co-leader and physician collaborator for ongoing survey and accreditation preparedness.
  • Serve as the organization's physician expert on quality and safety principles, emphasizing adherence to evidence-based practices and efforts to minimize variations in care delivery.
  • Engage in various aspects of Cross Functional Governance within the health system and the Clinically Integrated Network, focusing on reducing clinical variations to enhance care outcomes and lower care costs.

Qualifications:

Doctorate degree from an accredited medical or osteopathic institution, successful completion of a recognized residency program, and board certification from the American Board of Medical Specialties.

Completion of a formal training program in clinical performance improvement science.

A minimum of 10 years of clinical practice experience, with progressive leadership roles within healthcare systems.

Possession of an Idaho Medical License.
