Director, Business and Legal Affairs

About the Role
Fox Corporation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced business-minded broadcast distribution attorney to fill the position of Director, Business and Legal Affairs. The successful candidate will report to the Vice President, Business and Legal Affairs and will be responsible for negotiating and drafting various agreements that license TV station groups the right to distribute the Fox Broadcast Network, MyNetwork TV, and NewsEdge programming.
Key Responsibilities
- Negotiate and draft agreements with TV station groups to license Fox Broadcast Network, MyNetwork TV, and NewsEdge programming.
- Provide advice and guidance to executives in Broadcast Distribution on legal matters, including the interpretation of agreements with station groups.
- Assist with legal issues arising in connection with station acquisitions and divestitures, including requests for consent to assignment and confidentiality issues.
Requirements
- 4-7 years of transactional experience in a top-tier law firm and/or as an in-house attorney in broadcast distribution or content licensing and distribution.
- Law degree; active member of California bar or Registered In-House Counsel status.
- Strong legal reasoning and drafting skills.
- Strong communications skills; both orally and in writing in a clear, straightforward manner with all levels of management and company personnel.
- Ability to make decisions and creatively solve problems while working under pressure.
- Ability to collaborate with a team, including cross-functionally.
- Manage multiple projects at one time and shift gears as priorities change.
- Client-service oriented, personable, with great attention to detail while still meeting tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- M&A or IP Licensing experience.
Compensation and Benefits
The pay range for this role is $140,000.00 annually for California. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
