Position Overview:

The Team Supervisor role is an entry-level developmental position aimed at preparing the employee for advancement to an Assistant Manager. Team Supervisors support the Store Manager and Assistant Manager in daily operations and assist in training new team members. The Team Supervisor is expected to assume the responsibilities of the Assistant Manager in their absence, managing day-to-day store operations while adhering to company policies.

Typically, the Team Supervisor will work one to two weekends per month in a management capacity, filling in for the Manager and Assistant Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Welcome all customers with a friendly greeting.
  • Recommend merchandise to customers.
  • Learn to operate the cash register and other necessary equipment accurately.
  • Price, stock, and organize merchandise, including gondolas, shelving, counters, and storage areas.
  • Oversee product storage, maintenance, and rotation to prevent damage or spoilage, which may involve lifting weights of 50 lbs or more.
  • Maintain store cleanliness in accordance with maintenance policies and health regulations, including tasks such as replacing gas nozzles, sweeping parking lots, and cleaning restrooms.
  • Adhere to all security and safety protocols.
  • Account for all transactions during shifts.
  • Present a neat and professional appearance, adhering to the dress code.
  • Accurately complete required store paperwork.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Store Manager or District Manager.
  • Manage cash and inventory in the absence of the Assistant Manager and Store Manager.
  • Report any discrepancies to the Store Manager immediately.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Reliable, independent transportation.
  • A working phone number for communication with management and staff.

Skills:

  • Ability to multitask.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

Work Environment:

This position operates in a typical retail convenience store setting.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to fifty pounds.
  • Capability to bend, twist, and stand or walk for extended periods.

Technology Used:

  • Experience with POS/cash register systems is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with general office equipment and computers.

Education and Experience:

High School diploma or GED equivalent. Previous experience in a convenience store is advantageous but not mandatory.
