Production Operations Leader
This role is pivotal in overseeing a continuous operation, focusing on mentoring, coaching, and training team members to cultivate effective and efficient workgroups. The individual will ensure clear and effective communication within and across teams, as well as with management and support functions. The aim is to develop adaptable, multi-skilled personnel to facilitate the movement of staff as necessary to achieve operational goals. Collaboration with the Plant Steering Team is essential to formulate and execute both short-term and long-term strategies, including project management, staffing, and employee engagement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Designs and directs initiatives to guarantee the efficient and cost-effective operation and utilization of facility resources.
- Oversees safety, quality, service, and cost performance within the designated area.
- Ensures adherence to the organization's policies and procedures.
- Provides recommendations to senior management regarding long-term labor strategies and capital equipment requirements.
- Implements and oversees changes to systems, policies, and procedures, ensuring timely and accurate execution.
- Maintains precise, timely, and comprehensive documentation related to all production aspects.
- Partners with Human Resources on employee relations issues, ensuring consistent policy application.
- Implements strategies that align with departmental and corporate vision and objectives.
- Develops and manages the operating budget and capital expenditure plans for the assigned area.
- Identifies, recruits, and develops staff capabilities necessary to consistently meet departmental goals.
- Ensures the application of industry best practices and that employees receive appropriate training.
- Responsible for understanding and complying with relevant quality, environmental, and safety regulations, including HALAL and Kosher compliance.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Develops, coaches, and mentors subordinate staff.
- Conducts performance evaluations, recommends salary adjustments, recognizes employee contributions, and addresses disciplinary actions as necessary.

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED with over 7 years of supervisory or management experience in food processing or manufacturing operations, demonstrating solid progressive leadership.
- Strong presentation, communication, training, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven track record in understanding the factors influencing product and labor cost variances.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Over 10 years of supervisory or management experience in food processing or manufacturing operations with a solid progressive leadership background.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree is highly preferred.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical and business publications, financial reports, and legal documents.
- Experience in addressing common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory bodies, or business community members.
- Proven ability to define problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with all levels and functions within the organization.
- Skilled in project management.
- Experience in leveraging the skills and capabilities of front-line employees.
- Knowledge and exposure to TPM, Six Sigma, and various problem-solving methodologies.
Work Hours: This position may require off-shift hours, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
