Barrel Handling Specialist

As a Barrel Handling Operator at Land O'Lakes, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the proper sealing, closing, labeling, handling, and storage of all cheese packaged in the CM department.
Key Responsibilities:- Seal, weigh, and scan barrels, including cleaning tasks.
- Store barrels in the cooler area, performing tasks such as blow-off fiber, inverting, wrapping, and stocking.
- Operate in the Monorail Room, performing tasks such as vacuuming whey, unloading barrels, removing press plates and extenders, moving carriers to washers, and running fillers for salter breaks.
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and office staff regarding policies, procedures, documentation, quality, and production issues.
- Ensure accuracy and timely completion of all department paperwork.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP guidelines, and LQMS requirements.
- Contribute to a behavioral-based safety culture.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 6 months of verifiable work experience.
- Prior manufacturing experience preferred.
- Ability to read and write effectively in English.
- Ability to perform basic math equations.
- Ability to utilize computers and software programs proficiently.
- Ability to communicate effectively to ensure product flow to next workstations.
- Ability to contribute to a safe and organized work environment.
- Ability to work variable shifts, weekends, and/or holidays.
- Maintain prompt and regular job attendance.
- Ability to lift 50lbs.
