Heavy Equipment Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team at TransForce, a leading provider of heavy equipment maintenance and repair services. As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you will play a critical role in maintaining and repairing our fleet of gasoline and diesel trucks, construction equipment, and other mechanical assets.
Key Responsibilities- Service and maintain gasoline and diesel powered construction equipment, various types of trailers, and light and heavy duty trucks in accordance with industry standards and best practices.
- Diagnose mechanical defects and implement a preventive maintenance program to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimize downtime.
- Inspect, maintain, service, and repair equipment, including engines, transmissions, air and hydraulic brake systems, air compressors, air conditioning units, fuel systems, ignitions, valves, HVAC, and hydraulic components.
- Diagnose and evaluate MIG and gas welding and/or cutting needs, and perform repairs as necessary.
- Troubleshoot vehicle components, use standard and specialized tools and garage equipment, and read and interpret technical data and manuals.
- Work independently with minimal supervision and perform tasks based upon general direction and company policies.
- Maintain and establish cooperative working relationships with colleagues and management, and contribute to a positive and productive work environment.
- Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by management.
- 1+ years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair, preferably in a similar role or industry.
- High School diploma or equivalent, and a valid CDL.
- A/C certification and drill rig experience are preferred, but not required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand and walk frequently, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and squat, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Construction equipment, trailer, light duty truck, and heavy duty truck maintenance, and repair procedures, including principles of internal combustion engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and pneumatic systems.
- Tools, equipment, and materials common to light, medium, and heavy duty truck and trailer maintenance and repairs, and provisions of codes and laws relating to DOT inspections, ANSI, and OSHA inspections.
- Safety provisions and practices applicable to vehicle maintenance and repair under both shop and road conditions, and ability to work safely and efficiently in a team environment.
