Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble and Install Supporting Structures: Assemble and install supporting structures, rigging, hoist and pulling gear to ensure safe and efficient movement of heavy equipment.
  • Attach Load to Rigging: Attach load to rigging to provide support or prepare for moving using hand and power tools.
  • Connect Pulleys and Blocks: Connect pulleys and blocks to fixed overhead structures with bolts, shackles and clamps.
  • Clean and Dress Machine and Surfaces: Clean and dress machine and surfaces of component parts.
  • Control Movement of Heavy Equipment: Control movements of heavy equipment through narrow openings or confined spaces.
  • Dismantle, Maintain and Store Rigging Equipment: Dismantle, maintain and store rigging equipment to ensure it is in good working condition.
  • Manipulate Rigging Lines and Hoist: Manipulate rigging lines and hoist to move or support materials, steel, concrete etc.
  • Select Gear, Shackles and Cables: Select gear, shackles and cables according to load size, facilities and work schedule.
  • Signal or Give Verbal Directions: Signal or give verbal directions to workers engaged in hoisting and moving loads to ensure safety of workers and materials.
  • Test Rigging: Test rigging to ensure safety and reliability before engaging in hoisting or lifting.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Communication Skills: Possess excellent communication skills to effectively communicate with team members and management.
  • Reasoning Ability: Possess strong reasoning ability to make sound judgments and decisions.
Requirements
  • CDL – CLASS A OR B: Possess a valid CDL – CLASS A OR B license.
  • NCCCO: Possess a valid NCCCO certification.
  • TWIC: Possess a valid TWIC certification.
