Position Overview

General Summary: As a key member of the legal team, you will conduct comprehensive legal research, analysis, and provide strategic recommendations on legal and environmental matters affecting Rainbow Energy Center and its subsidiaries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal guidance to the executive leadership regarding the implications of proposed policies and procedures.
  • Manage and resolve disputes and litigation effectively.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and various legal documents.
  • Collaborate with the executive team on tax, legislative, regulatory, and compliance issues, advocating for the organization's interests.
  • Oversee all significant legal matters, including contracts, leases, risk management, and corporate governance.
  • Supervise external legal counsel engaged to support Rainbow Energy Center's specialized legal needs.
  • Negotiate legal agreements on behalf of the organization and its affiliates.
  • Safeguard the organization's rights in dealings with external entities.
  • Conduct thorough factual and legal research and analysis.
  • Stay informed about relevant environmental regulations to ensure compliance with legal standards and best practices.
  • Protect the intellectual property rights of the organization.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field, along with a Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school. An active license to practice law and/or membership in the state Bar is required. Familiarity with corporate legal matters is essential.

  • Exceptional negotiation skills and strong critical thinking abilities.
  • Experience in managing outsourced legal expenditures for efficiency.
  • Knowledge of key legal issues pertinent to Rainbow Energy Center.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong organizational and management capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Commitment to following security procedures and promptly reporting potential incidents.

Working Conditions:

This role requires prolonged periods of sitting, walking, and standing. Employees must be able to communicate effectively in person and via telephone, operate standard office equipment, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. The work environment is typically quiet to moderate in noise level, with occasional exposure to louder sounds.
