Location: Columbia VA Healthcare System
Employment Type: Full-Time, 40 hours per week.
Compensation: Estimated Pay of $28.42/hour.
Benefits Overview:

Work Schedule:
The Clinical Laboratory Technician is required to work Monday through Friday, including weekends and holidays as necessary, on an 8-hour shift basis to support laboratory testing.
Qualifications:
- Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or American Medical Technologists (AMT) is required, or an equivalent certification in Medical Laboratory Technology.
- An Associate degree in medical laboratory science or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a clinical practice program in medical technology.
- A minimum of two years of experience in a healthcare setting demonstrating the ability to perform relevant duties.
- Two professional references.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform technical laboratory functions including but not limited to chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, and immunology.
- Report test results according to clinic protocols, alerting healthcare providers about abnormal findings.
- Ensure quality control in specimen collection and maintain accurate records.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies, ensuring proper setup, calibration, and sterility testing.
- Adhere to all laboratory policies and OSHA regulations regarding safety and cleanliness.
- Execute additional duties as assigned.
Technical Skills:
- Generalist capabilities across all areas of the Clinical Laboratory.
- Ensure timely collection and submission of specimens.
- Process specimens promptly following established laboratory policies.
- Conduct quality control procedures and analyze test data to ensure accuracy.
Health Compliance:
- Proof of Tuberculosis testing and immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis is required.
- Annual Influenza vaccination proof is mandatory unless contraindicated.
- COVID-19 vaccination proof is required unless a medical or religious exemption is provided.
