Position Overview

Are you an experienced paralegal specializing in commercial real estate, adept at providing support to attorneys within a legal firm environment? This role involves managing various elements of intricate commercial real estate dealings, such as financing, development, and leasing of commercial properties, while collaborating with a diverse array of national restaurant operating companies. Nelson Mullins, a prominent AmLaw 100 law firm, is looking for a dedicated Commercial Real Estate Paralegal to enhance their practice.

Daily Responsibilities

In this dynamic Commercial Real Estate practice, you will be instrumental in assisting attorneys and working alongside fellow paralegals. Your duties will encompass:

  • Reviewing and summarizing purchase agreements with a keen eye on critical deadlines and closing stipulations.
  • Analyzing title and survey issues.
  • Drafting memoranda and objection letters related to title assessments.
  • Organizing and executing the necessary conditions to satisfy title requirements.
  • Conducting research on property tax and ownership details.
  • Coordinating, executing, and financing escrow closings.
  • Ensuring adherence to escrow instructions, including the recording and issuance of final title insurance policies.
  • Managing post-closing activities.

You will thrive in a high-pressure environment, adeptly meeting tight deadlines for demanding clients. Your exceptional client service skills will shine as you handle multiple cases concurrently in an organized fashion with minimal oversight. Strong communication abilities will enable you to interact effectively with individuals at all organizational levels, including management and support personnel. Your proficiency in document management and technological tools will be key assets. You will excel both as an independent contributor and as a collaborative team member, demonstrating a proactive approach that allows you to grasp intricate details within a broader context.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess experience in title and survey analysis. Previous exposure to a large law firm and familiarity with real estate transactions will be beneficial. While a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and a paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program are preferred, relevant professional experience may be considered as an alternative.
