Land Surveyor Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled Land Surveyor Assistant to join our team at Westwood Professional Services, Inc. As a key member of our surveying team, you will assist Professional Surveyors with various tasks, including CAD production, boundary analysis, research, and deliverables review.
Key Responsibilities- Assist Professional Surveyors with CAD production, boundary analysis, research, legal description and easement preparation, deliverables review, computation, and adherence to specific state statutes.
- Work with the Professional Surveyor to define project tasks, schedule, and resource requirements.
- Evaluate property boundaries in metes and bounds and public land survey states.
- Travel occasionally for courthouse research.
- Coordinate with field crews and office staff.
- Perform QA/QC checks.
- Stay current on service-specific trends, technology, software, hardware, and equipment.
- Ensure division, regional, and company policies and practices are consistently followed within the survey service.
- Lead by example – display solid judgment, good values, trust, honesty, openness, and professionalism.
- Surveyor in Training certification.
- Four-year degree preferred and/or 3-plus years of land survey field experience.
- Effective verbal and written communication are necessary and independent judgment is essential.
- Handle multiple priorities and projects well.
- Civil 3D experience.
- Coordinating activities with office personnel, including surveying technicians and engineering staff.
- Experience searching for/recovering Public Land Survey System monuments.
- Ability to travel and remain on a project site or other Westwood office for extended periods.
- TBC experience preferred.
