About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Land Surveyor Assistant to join our team at Westwood Professional Services, Inc. As a key member of our surveying team, you will assist Professional Surveyors with various tasks, including CAD production, boundary analysis, research, and deliverables review.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Professional Surveyors with CAD production, boundary analysis, research, legal description and easement preparation, deliverables review, computation, and adherence to specific state statutes.
  • Work with the Professional Surveyor to define project tasks, schedule, and resource requirements.
  • Evaluate property boundaries in metes and bounds and public land survey states.
  • Travel occasionally for courthouse research.
  • Coordinate with field crews and office staff.
  • Perform QA/QC checks.
  • Stay current on service-specific trends, technology, software, hardware, and equipment.
  • Ensure division, regional, and company policies and practices are consistently followed within the survey service.
  • Lead by example – display solid judgment, good values, trust, honesty, openness, and professionalism.
Requirements
  • Surveyor in Training certification.
  • Four-year degree preferred and/or 3-plus years of land survey field experience.
  • Effective verbal and written communication are necessary and independent judgment is essential.
  • Handle multiple priorities and projects well.
  • Civil 3D experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Coordinating activities with office personnel, including surveying technicians and engineering staff.
  • Experience searching for/recovering Public Land Survey System monuments.
  • Ability to travel and remain on a project site or other Westwood office for extended periods.
  • TBC experience preferred.
