Job Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced and licensed Structural Engineer to join our team as a Project Lead. The successful candidate will have a strong background in structural design and will be responsible for providing technical guidance and training to our design resources.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for design, structural calculations, client interaction, and project oversight on all assigned structural engineering project work.
  • Manage and administer all managerial and administrative aspects of projects, including scheduling, quality control, design review and coordination, and proposal preparation.
  • Provide direct daily management and technical training to team members assigned to project.
  • Provide technical training and development to staff, supervise, coordinate, and review the work of less experienced engineers and designers.
  • Review shop drawings, submittals, and redlines.
  • Review and interpret engineering specifications.
  • Coordinate with all disciplines involved, including outside consultants and contractors.
  • Participate in meetings with Customers and Owners to review the scope of work, discuss ways to reduce costs, and provide value engineering ideas.
  • Build relationships with potential and existing clients in efforts to procure new work.
  • Establish and improve standards, practices, and guidelines for discipline area.
  • Act as the Engineer of record.
Requirements:
  • 5-15 years' experience of structural design in the consulting engineering industry with a bachelor's degree minimum (masters degree preferred) in Civil Engineering with a structural focus.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure preferably in Oregon.
  • Proficiency with engineering related programs such as RISA3D, Enercalc, Etabs, BlueBeam, etc and/or high adaptability to learning new software and technology.
  • Good understanding of the construction process and construction documents.
  • Familiar with NDS, AISC, ASCE 7, ACI and International Building Codes.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Solid writing and organization skills.
  • Understanding the importance of excellent customer service and maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work in a clean room environment.
