Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a full-time Structural Engineer, EIT with 1-5 years of relevant experience. Compensation will be aligned with experience and qualifications. The selected candidate will engage in projects across both our technology and commercial engineering divisions, taking on responsibilities for managing and/or designing relevant projects. Candidates will be assessed based on their design experience and strong communication abilities, both verbal and written. Additional evaluation criteria will include design experience with timber, concrete, masonry, and steel. Strong interpersonal skills are essential, as the role involves employee management and regular client interactions. The successful candidate will enjoy a dynamic and supportive office environment while contributing to the company's future direction. Our industrial division collaborates with some of the leading technology innovators on significant projects, while our commercial building division engages in a diverse array of projects, including retail, multi-story commercial structures, high-end residential, mid-level multi-family housing, K-12 educational facilities, medical buildings, retail spaces, industrial projects, and seismic retrofitting.

Key Responsibilities:

The Structural Engineer, EIT will be responsible for producing design drawings, specifications, and computer models for various structures, including hospitals, office buildings, residences, bridges, and more. Specific responsibilities include:
  • Providing technical guidance and quality oversight, including code reviews, for all structural engineering project work.
  • Conducting technical training and development for staff.
  • Establishing and enhancing standards, practices, guidelines, and specifications within the discipline.
  • Offering real-time technical advice and cost estimates as required.
  • Reviewing and directing revisions to design packages as necessary.
  • Assessing as-built conditions, submittals, and redlines.
  • Coordinating with all involved disciplines (Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, etc.), including external consultants and contractors.
  • Engaging with code officials and contractors on technical matters.
  • Participating in discussions with clients and stakeholders to review project scope, explore cost-saving measures, and provide value engineering insights.
  • Coordinating changes and gathering information from various sources to ensure accurate information flow.
  • Reviewing and interpreting engineering specifications.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 1-5 years of structural design experience in the consulting engineering sector or a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis.
  • EIT certification.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD, Outlook, Word, Excel, and Bluebeam.
  • Solid understanding of the construction process.
  • Familiarity with NDS, AISC, ASCE 7, ACI, and International Building Codes.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Familiarity with construction documentation.
  • High attention to detail.
