Key Responsibilities
- Conduct both conceptual and detailed HV and MV Substation Physical/Electrical design for utilities/substations (including basic layout, electrical arrangement, one line, three-line drawings, plan-section, grounding, AC and DC system drawings)
- Execute engineering studies and calculations
- Perform Quality Control assessments on substation physical design projects
- Act as the technical lead on projects with minimal supervision
- Prepare and review bill of materials for substation physical projects
- Develop and evaluate proposals and scopes of work for smaller substation physical projects
- Engage in client interactions (including site visits) alongside a senior, project, or lead project engineer
- Exhibit excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with internal teams and clients to achieve project goals
- Enhance leadership skills in preparation for future roles within the team
- Four (4+) years of experience in Substation physical design.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or a related field
- Familiarity with grounding studies/lightning protection and lighting studies.
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.E) license
- Master's degree in a relevant field
- Understanding of protection and control design
- Experience with bus calculation
- Proficiency with WinIGS or CDEGS

Pay Range: Pay Range $81,000 - $146,875.00
The Leidos pay range for this job level serves as a general guideline and is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) job responsibilities, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreements (if any), or other legal considerations.
