  • Assess student requirements and implement strategies to modify behavior.
  • Maintain accurate records as directed by the School Wellness Team.
  • Execute behavioral strategies and interventions aimed at fostering positive and constructive changes.
  • Evaluate crisis situations and employ conflict resolution and crisis management techniques to de-escalate issues.
  • Compose clear and comprehensive observations.
  • Encourage positive behaviors while redirecting negative actions.
  • Clarify values, including rules, expectations, and consequences.
  • Apply logical consequences for inappropriate conduct.
  • With appropriate training, physically intervene when necessary to ensure safety.
Communication and Collaboration
  • Collaborate with the School Wellness team, School Leaders, and educators to create effective intervention programs for modifying unacceptable student behavior.
  • Provide insights to parents, guardians, or other caregivers regarding student behavior.
  • Ensure uniformity in behavioral standards by coordinating with relevant student contacts.
  • Consult with educators, operations staff, and school leaders to gather information on past behavioral issues and share relevant behavioral concerns.
Program and Team Support
  • Support the school team by monitoring changes in student behavior, assisting with academic tasks, and supervising various activities throughout the instructional day to maintain a safe and controlled environment for students and staff.
  • Participate in IEP (Individualized Education Plan) and student progress meetings as needed.
  • Execute the school's emergency protocols as required.
  • Attend training sessions related to safety, security, physical interventions, and behavior management as requested.
Qualifications
  • An Associate's degree is required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Effective communication skills (both written and verbal) are essential.
  • Registered Behavior Technician certification (RBT) is preferred.
Physical Requirements: The physical demands outlined here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this role. While fulfilling the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to communicate with both adults and children. The employee frequently uses hands or fingers to handle objects, tools, or controls. The employee is often required to stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and may need to climb ladders. Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to high.
