About EquipmentShare's Culinary Assistant Role

We are searching for a highly motivated Culinary Assistant to support our ES Culinary Team and Executive Chef in Columbia, MO. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to learn about basic gardening, proper culinary technique, and various culinary projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the ES Culinary Team to learn and assist in kitchen operations.
  • Prepare Monday to Friday breakfasts and lunches, assisting with menu planning and inventory control.
  • Support the team in putting out weekly parties for meetings and special events.
  • Assist with ordering and stocking of snacks, coffee, and drinks for staff.
  • Contribute to the development of weekly menus and assist with clean-up and special detailing projects.
  • Support No Child Hungry and Disaster Relief projects as needed.

We are looking for a team player with a passion for culinary arts and a willingness to learn and grow with our organization. The ideal candidate will have basic knife skills, knowledge of kitchen equipment, and a strong desire to take on new challenges with a positive attitude.

Requirements

  • Desire to pursue culinary arts or strong interest in the culinary field.
  • Basic knife skills and knowledge of kitchen equipment or willingness to learn.
  • Gardening skills are a plus, with a willingness to learn garden-to-plate techniques.
  • Ability to multitask, take direction, and feedback, and lift at least 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a variety of temperatures and environments.
