Position Overview:
The Automotive Parts Consultant at Don Thornton Volkswagen of Tulsa is integral to the seamless functioning of our dealership. This role emphasizes outstanding customer service and support within the parts department. As a Parts Consultant, your primary responsibilities will include accurately identifying, sourcing, ordering, and delivering the appropriate parts and accessories to our clientele, technicians, and service advisors. You will also be tasked with maintaining precise inventory levels, organizing parts storage, and effectively communicating with team members and customers to fulfill their parts requirements. Compensation for this role is commensurate with experience and may include a salary along with an incentive commission plan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify parts and accessories accurately by consulting catalogs, computer databases, and other resources.
  • Source and order parts promptly to satisfy customer and service department needs.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by assisting customers with their parts inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure the proper organization of parts storage.
  • Collaborate with service advisors and technicians to guarantee correct parts selection for vehicle repairs.
  • Manage parts warranties and returns efficiently.
  • Stay informed about the latest product information and advancements in the automotive parts sector.
  • Assist with regular inventory audits and ensure stock levels are adequately maintained.
  • Comply with company policies, procedures, and safety standards.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in automotive parts and accessories or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of automotive parts, components, and systems.
  • Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
  • Capability to accurately identify parts and provide suitable recommendations.
  • Proficient in utilizing electronic parts catalogs, computer systems, and other reference materials.
  • Detail-oriented with robust organizational and time management skills.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with inventory management software.
  • Valid driver's license with no significant traffic violations.
