POSITION SUMMARY

The Affordable Housing Management Supervisor is tasked with overseeing the portfolio of affordable housing for single adults, ensuring effective property management and leading a dedicated property management team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the affordable housing continuum for single adults in the Metro West area, delivering hands-on property management services for over 140 housing units.
  • Oversee tenant recruitment and selection processes, ensuring compliance with program regulations and verifying applicant qualifications.
  • Lead the Metro West Housing & Property Management team, collaborating closely with the Program Director to maintain program stability and support client development.
  • Administer departmental operations and financial activities, including staffing, budgeting, and achieving financial objectives.
  • Recruit, mentor, and evaluate team members, providing necessary training and performance assessments in line with company policies.
  • Represent the organization at regional meetings concerning the Metro West housing continuum.
  • Facilitate supportive housing initiatives that empower clients in their recovery journeys, enhancing their quality of life and independence.
  • Ensure regular house meetings are conducted at properties.
  • Monitor occupancy rates and rental income, addressing account receivables and eviction processes to meet financial goals.
  • Integrate new properties into the Housing Continuum effectively.
  • Collaborate with Property Managers to maintain full occupancy and operational efficiency.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the Common Ground Resource Center discussions.
  • Ensure compliance with various funding requirements and maintain accurate databases.
  • Promptly report maintenance issues and monitor the completion of requests.
  • Represent the organization in housing court as necessary.
  • Facilitate referrals to other programs as appropriate.
  • Submit required documentation to the Housing Office in a timely manner.
  • Manage rent collection, security deposits, tenant issues, and conduct annual inspections.
  • Provide emergency support during evenings and weekends.
  • Engage with clients to understand and address their needs comprehensively.
  • Attend engagement team meetings, follow up on client service plans, and communicate effectively across specialties.
  • Ensure adherence to program, agency, and funding requirements, as well as organizational policies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor's degree required, along with relevant experience.
  • Experience working with homeless or underserved populations is essential.
  • A minimum of 2 years of management experience is required, preferably in a decentralized setting.
  • Familiarity with 12-step recovery programs is advantageous.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
  • Proficient computer skills, particularly in Word and Excel, are required.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are mandatory.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal abilities are essential.
  • Ability to work independently while fulfilling assigned responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated capacity to engage with diverse groups in various environments is crucial.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to navigate stairs.
  • Capability to drive as required.

REPORTING STRUCTURE

  • This position reports directly to the Director of Housing & Supported Services.
  • Supervises Property Managers and Assistant Property Managers.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This role involves regular travel to residential properties without elevators. Evening and weekend coverage may be necessary. The position entails direct or incidental contact with clients served by the organization in various programs funded or administered through relevant governmental offices.
