Job Summary

The Director of Reunion and Class Engagement is responsible for driving strategy, development, and planning for Reunion and class-based programming, data reporting, and volunteer management. This role oversees a team of four Associate Directors and one Assistant Director, managing a team of approximately 45,000 undergraduate alumni.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement a focused plan to grow participation from undergraduate classes through increased volunteer outreach and peer-to-peer Class Agent and Reunion solicitation
  • Collaborate with the Senior Director, Signature Events team, and Marketing teams to plan and execute Reunion, Homecoming, and the class agent program
  • Manage volunteer communications, work with Development Officers to identify and recruit volunteers, and solicit volunteers as needed for annual gifts to ensure 100% participation from volunteers
  • Serve as primary point of contact for overall Reunion General Chair(s), managing the relationship and tasks associated with the role, in collaboration with the Senior Director
  • Liaise with Professional School partners to coordinate the Reunion experience for all alumni
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required
  • Five or more years of relevant experience, preferably in higher education development
  • One year supervisory experience required
  • Innovative thinker and solution-oriented
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently but also collaboratively in a team environment
  • Interpersonal skills and judgment suitable for exercising appropriate discretion and demeanor when dealing with alumni, parents, friends, and employees
  • Ability to exercise good judgment in the handling of confidential information
  • Ability to use current computer technology, such as Windows, Excel, Word, and Vanderbilt's donor management system
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and adapt to ever-changing priorities
