AST SpaceMobile, in collaboration with our international partners, is pioneering the first and only space-based cellular broadband network accessible via standard smartphones. Position Summary:

The Test Engineer will play a crucial role in the formulation and execution of tests to guarantee the quality of our offerings. This position entails a thorough analysis of product features and testing requirements, crafting tailored quality assessments, and documenting final testing protocols for the approval of the sub-system lead engineer. The Test Engineer will also be responsible for executing the testing protocols and compiling comprehensive test reports. A broad understanding of engineering principles and product design, along with a keen attention to detail and innovative thinking, are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with the product design team and sub-system lead engineers to establish testing requirements.
  • Developing test plans, procedures, and processes to ensure thorough testing.
  • Conducting the execution of test protocols.
  • Providing training and technical support to staff as necessary.
  • Innovating and integrating automation into testing processes wherever feasible.
  • Ensuring compliance of all tests and procedures with company and industry standards.
  • Preparing detailed test reports for management review.
  • Offering expertise on testing equipment and methodologies to product engineering teams.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant testing experience.
  • Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card Holder.
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering, or closely related fields.
  • Experience in research, development, testing, or laboratory settings.
  • Familiarity with common laboratory software (LabView, Ansys, MATLAB, etc.).
  • Experience with test automation techniques.
  • Knowledge of general-purpose electronics testing equipment: power supplies, digital multimeters, source meters.
  • Understanding of photovoltaic (PV) solar cells and their design, testing, or manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with RF systems and testing equipment: spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, and other RF tools.
  • Familiarity with general mechanical tools and systems: pressure piping for fluids/gases, vacuum systems, pumps, and hand tools.
  • Experience in quality control or inspection of complex electronics, particularly in aerospace or defense sectors.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot intricate systems.
