Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Patient Access Teams: Effectively lead and direct the work of patient access leaders and staff within the parameters of designated performance standards and metrics.
  • Improve Revenue Cycle Performance: Develop and implement processes and initiatives designed to improve revenue cycle performance in assigned areas.
  • Client Executive Satisfaction: Demonstrate excellent customer service skills by facilitating communication between client leadership, patients, supporting teams, and payors.
  • Strategic Objectives: Develop, deploy, and improve the Optum Global Operations Model, The Optum Performance System (TOPS), and other major organizational initiatives.
  • Issue Resolution: Resolve issues, including data collection, root cause analysis, reporting, mitigation action plans, and communication related to the standardization of patient access activities.
  • Meetings and Communication: Oversee recurring monthly and ad-hoc meetings to inter/intra-departmentally coordinate patient access activities.
  • Policies and Procedures: Develop and roll-out related policies/procedures, strategy, communications, and other management components in coordination with senior internal and external leadership.
  • Technology Integration: Serve as the IT liaison for patient access technology integration.
  • Quality Assurance: Effectively participate in team-level quality assurance, patient satisfaction, employee engagement, and process improvement activities.
  • Leadership and Development: Lead by example, promoting teamwork and operational relationships by fostering a positive, transparent, and focused working environment.
  • Expert Knowledge: Maintain and demonstrate expert knowledge of patient access processes and best practices.
  • Human Resource Management: Serve in a leadership role, promoting positive human resource management skills, including interviewing, selecting, and evaluating individuals within the area of responsibility.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 4+ years of experience working as a patient access manager or director in an acute hospital setting.
  • Leadership Experience: 5+ years of supervisory or leadership experience within revenue cycle environment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
