Executive Director Opportunity

The San Mateo County Bar Association seeks a visionary leader to serve as its Executive Director. This is a unique opportunity to lead a prominent bar association in the country.

About the Role
  • Oversee the overall successful operation and performance of the Association, including programs, fund development efforts, fiscal health, and structural soundness.
  • Manage an annual budget and lead a team of staff members.
  • Serve as the primary spokesperson for the Association with community members, policymakers, funders, and partner organizations.
About the Ideal Candidate
  • A proven track record as a change manager with excellent fundraising, operations, relationship-building, and advocacy skills.
  • A passion for the Association's mission and the ability to establish trust and credibility with the Board of Directors, staff, community members, policymakers, and partner organizations.
  • A track record as a leader with experience in a legal environment relevant to the Association's mission.
  • At least seven years of experience in a senior management position within a large nonprofit organization.
  • Extensive experience working in diverse communities, as well as working collaboratively and respectfully with other communities of color and marginalized communities.
