Summary:
Up to $500 in BonusesApplicable to external candidates only.

Work hours are primarily from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM with variable days off. Schedule may change based on departmental needs. Flexibility to work weekends and holidays is required.

Please note: Positions in Food Services, café, and barista roles do not receive tips.

This role involves taking customer orders and facilitating service in food and beverage sales, as well as managing an efficient meal service. Employees will be trained in both areas of service. Food handling will adhere to both internal and external guidelines, with a focus on minimizing waste while ensuring quality. Responsibilities include accurate cash handling and compliance with established standards and procedures. Employees are accountable for the accuracy of orders, maintaining inventory levels, ordering supplies, and ensuring product rotation for optimal quality. Given the significant customer interaction, excellent customer service skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Prepare beverage orders for patients, staff, and visitors, adhering to standard recipes and presentation guidelines; assist customers with menu inquiries and utilize suggestive selling techniques to enhance sales.
  2. Efficiently operate the patient trayline to meet service timelines; ensure proper presentation of food items according to the menu.
  3. Prepare patient orders in line with dietary guidelines; manage tray setups and clean up according to established timelines.
  4. Deliver meal orders in accordance with delivery protocols.
  5. Utilize the Point-of-Sale (POS) system for processing payments; reconcile cash and daily receipts at the end of shifts, reporting discrepancies to management.
  6. Maintain accurate inventory levels in service areas; complete necessary documentation such as production par lists and waste sheets.
  7. Collaborate effectively with colleagues, vendors, and the public to deliver exceptional service; assist in various departmental tasks as needed.
  8. Participate in safety training and adhere to safety protocols; maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  9. Follow infection control procedures and maintain a safe environment for all.
  10. Demonstrate respect and professionalism in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues.
  11. Support departmental goals through teamwork and participation in meetings.
  12. Maintain personal hygiene and safety standards as required by the department.
  13. Keep workspaces clean and organized.
  14. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Required:

  • One year of relevant experience in hospitality, retail, or healthcare services, or a combination of education and experience demonstrating the ability to fulfill job responsibilities.
  • Possession of a valid Food Handlers permit issued by the Department of Health.
  • Basic knowledge of food handling standards.
  • Ability to perform business math as required.
  • Proficient in reading, understanding, and communicating in English.

Desired:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Associate Degree in Nutrition or Healthcare.
  • Familiarity with modified diets or healthcare experience.
  • Experience with POS systems.
  • Knowledge of trayline operations and food handling practices.
