About the Role

The Quality Assurance Systems Specialist is accountable for developing and maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with industry standards (including IATF 16949, VDA6.3), accreditation mandates, and organizational requirements through established and new protocols. This role involves managing the audit program (both internal and external) to ensure that all nonconformities identified during audits are effectively rectified and independently verified. The specialist will lead the team in achieving quality management system objectives for clients and continuous improvement goals.

What You Will Do
  • Ensure adherence to the organization's quality management system, policies, and procedures.
  • Evaluate and review the quality system's performance with department leaders and provide compliance guidance.
  • Oversee the training and development of personnel involved in the quality system.
  • Formulate auditing strategies and manage the auditing process to ensure compliance with IATF16949 and VDA standards.
  • Create and maintain local documentation, standards, and records related to the quality system in alignment with global initiatives and compliance standards.
  • Assess the effectiveness of the corrective action process and ensure that corrective and preventive measures are implemented.
  • Coordinate external audits with clients and accreditation bodies, collaborating with local teams to meet IATF, VDA, and customer expectations.
  • Support supplier audits concerning supplier quality systems and accreditation compliance.
  • Develop and implement quality assurance standards.
  • Monitor quality standards and provide insights and recommendations for QMS modifications to plant leadership.
  • Lead and uphold the local internal audit program to ensure timely closure of identified corrective actions.
  • Manage and drive resolution for identified non-conformances and audit gap analyses.
  • Oversee the change management program to ensure changes are documented and executed in compliance with local policies.
  • Perform job functions with minimal supervision and follow-up, leading and delegating responsibilities as necessary.
  • Develop and disseminate updates to AESC quality standards for clients, including quality system, quality system audit, and product approval requirements.
What You Need
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong understanding of IATF16949 and VDA6.3 quality standards.
  • IATF16949 and/or VDA 6.3 Lead Auditor Certification.
  • A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in IATF and VDA Compliance auditing.
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • At least 1 year of experience in developing quality processes and documentation in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and communicate data effectively.
  • Ability to prioritize and adapt daily activities based on production urgency.
What is "Nice to Have"
  • Experience in a highly technical automotive manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in additional languages is advantageous, enhancing communication with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience working in cross-cultural settings or an understanding of cultural nuances would be beneficial.
  • Familiarity with the dynamics of start-up environments, demonstrating adaptability in agile and fast-paced settings.
Travel

Occasional domestic and international travel may be required.

Work Environment

The work environment is primarily an automated manufacturing facility characterized by some temperature extremes, moderate noise, and forklift traffic.
