Role Overview:

The Quality Assurance Inspector plays a crucial role within the Quality department, reporting directly to the Factory Quality Manager. This position is responsible for conducting audits of quality standards throughout various production areas. The inspector also performs regular product evaluations to ensure compliance with specified drawings and standards. In instances of nonconformance, the Quality Assurance Inspector supports containment efforts within the factory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct process audits within production cells and distribution centers to verify adherence to established work, safety, and quality protocols.
  • Document identified nonconformances in the audit database and relay critical information to Quality Engineers for thorough root cause analysis.
  • Execute part inspections according to specified drawings, identifying and reporting any defects or deviations.
  • Perform validation of processes and equipment, including wire crimp pull testing and torque validation.
  • This job description is not exhaustive and may be subject to revisions as required by management.

Qualifications for Success:

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with all levels of management and factory personnel.
  • Capacity to quickly absorb technical information and apply it to specific challenges.
  • Ability to manage tasks independently.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including email and Microsoft Office Suite.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift items weighing up to 35 lbs. For heavier items, assistance or appropriate lifting equipment must be utilized.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, up to 10 hours a day.
  • Additional physical activities include walking, balancing, climbing, and various movements necessary for quality inspection tasks.
  • Must be able to wear the required Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Mental capabilities include the ability to focus, take initiative, and manage stress effectively.
