POSITION OVERVIEW: FIELD MECHANIC - KUparuk FIELD SUPPORT SERVICES

ROLE SUMMARY

The Field Mechanic plays a crucial role in the maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of heavy construction machinery and equipment. This position involves working in challenging arctic environments, requiring a keen eye for detail and a strong technical background.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct thorough inspections of heavy machinery to identify issues and malfunctions.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools such as CAT ET, Cummins INSITE, and Volvo Prosis effectively.
  • Perform repairs on after-treatment systems and electronic components.
  • Service a variety of heavy equipment, including bulldozers, cranes, dump trucks, and more.
  • Overhaul engines, fuel systems, hydraulic and electrical systems, brakes, and transmissions.
  • Disassemble and reassemble machinery parts using a range of tools and equipment.
  • Execute routine maintenance tasks, including lubrication and oil changes, following established schedules.
  • Operate machinery to ensure optimal performance and diagnose issues.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of tools and workspaces.
  • Manage inventory of supplies and equipment efficiently.
  • Adhere to company policies and safety protocols.
  • Promote a culture of safety and accountability in all operations.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • At least three (3) years of experience in industrial maintenance as a mechanic.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience working in the North Slope region.
  • A valid driver's license is mandatory.
  • Certification in North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) safety training is required.
PREFERRED SKILLS
  • Possession of a Class A commercial driver's license with a valid US DOT medical card.
  • Five (5) years of mechanic experience in industrial maintenance is preferred.
  • Familiarity with diesel generators and mobile equipment is advantageous.
  • Experience in the oil and gas sector, particularly in arctic conditions, is a plus.
