Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Guest Services 2 Representative to join our team at Habitat for Humanity of Kansas City. As a key member of our retail store team, you will play a crucial role in supporting our mission to provide affordable housing and critical home repair solutions to families in our community.

Responsibilities
  • As a key holder, you will be responsible for opening and closing the store, ensuring all safety and security protocols are followed.
  • Conduct and enter cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy and identify discrepancies.
  • Pull and stage transfers according to company guidelines, ensuring accuracy in quantities and product types.
  • Lead, coordinate, and inspire a team of volunteers, providing clear instructions, support, and guidance to ensure effective collaboration and successful completion of tasks.
  • Process sales transactions accurately using point-of-sale systems, handling cash, credit, donation requests, and debit card payments efficiently.
  • Educate guests about Habitat for Humanity of Kansas City's mission and programs, encouraging donations and participation in volunteer opportunities.
  • Address guest concerns or complaints in a professional and timely manner, striving to achieve a positive experience.
  • Assist with receiving, organizing, and restocking inventory on the sales floor, ensuring shelves are neat, clean, and well-maintained.
  • Collaborate with volunteers to accomplish tasks such as stocking shelves, organizing merchandise, and maintaining store cleanliness.
  • Provide friendly and knowledgeable assistance to guests, helping them find products, answering questions, loading, and offering guidance on purchases.
  • Implement and maintain creative and visually appealing displays that highlight featured products and promotions.
  • Process donations by cleaning, testing functionality, completing minor repairs, and pricing.
Requirements
  • High School or equivalent education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Forklift experience helpful, but not required.
Physical Requirements

Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds. Must be able to stand for prolonged durations, walk, climb, bend, and squat. Comfortable standing, walking, and bending for extended periods. Ability to bend, stoop, or kneel repeatedly as part of job duties. Working outdoors in various weather conditions may require withstanding exposure to heat, cold, rain, or other elements.
