About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Administrative Supervisor to join our team at Hackensack Meridian Health. Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative direction and decision-making for nursing care during off-shifts, ensuring continuity of patient care.
  • Interpret the philosophy, objectives, standards, and goals of the Patient Care Division to staff, patients, and visitors.
  • Coordinate admission, transfers, and discharge of patients, scheduling and reallocating nursing personnel as needed.
  • Confer with hospital administrators on call regarding operational and management problems.
  • Makes rounds with nursing staff, assessing and planning patient care needs.
  • Participate in orientation of new personnel, per diem staff, and private duty nurses, providing guidance and supervision.
  • Identify individual and collective needs of nursing staff, conferring with the Education Department.
  • Plan, develop, and hold patient care conferences as necessary, assessing needs and problems, planning nursing approaches and interventions, and discussing discharge planning.
  • Attend Divisional Meetings and conduct Charge Nurse meetings on shift, participating in Patient Care Services and Hospital committee meetings and projects.
  • Ensure delivery of excellent customer service, resulting in positive and improving patient satisfaction scores for the department and Medical Center.
  • Administer supervision of all hospital activities as delegated by hospital administrator.
  • Evaluate work performance and assist in the Performance Appraisal process.
  • Selectively participate in direct nursing care.
  • Guide and assist nursing staff in utilizing the nursing process and performing activities or procedures necessary for patient care.
  • Guide and assist nursing staff with documentation of appropriate and accurate data on patient records.
  • Collaborate with medical staff, making suggestions as needed to provide optimum patient management.
  • Enhance and foster a therapeutic environment through interaction with family, patient, nursing, and medical personnel.
  • Develop knowledge and skills of nursing staff necessary for the implementation of the nursing process.
  • Provide career guidance and counseling to nursing staff, stimulating continuation of their educational growth and development.
  • Perform other duties and/or projects as assigned.
  • Adhere to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A graduate degree in nursing.
  • Five years of experience as an RN.
  • Minimum three years of experience in an administrative position.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Masters degree in Nursing.

REQUIRED LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:

  • New Jersey Registered Nurse.
  • BLS.
