Administrative Assistant Overview

At Interstate Waste Services, we're looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to support our operations management team. As an Administrative Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of our Murf.

Responsibilities:

The Administrative Assistant will be responsible for:

  • Checking in and communicating with drivers and collection helpers around shift times daily
  • Data entry regarding driver surveys, hours, miles, fuel, etc. on route sheets/logs
  • Receiving and assisting occasional customer service calls and communicating between drivers on routes
  • Collecting daily tickets and DVIR's for processing; also injury/accident reports as needed
  • Organizing and distributing all paperwork from drivers or other staff
  • Utilizing Tower program for all functions of operations
  • Providing cross-training in house for dispatch and Scale Weighmaster duties

Work Environment:

The position requires:

  • Shift time: roughly 6AM-2PM
  • 5 days a week Monday through Friday every other Saturday
  • Mainly sitting and typing throughout the day

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • To be at least 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in the United States
  • High school/GED education completed, higher education is a plus
  • Minimum 3 years experience as Administrative Assistant or some type of Operations Support required
  • Fluency in English required, Spanish bilingual is a plus
  • Proficient computer skills, including all Microsoft Office Suite Programs (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)
  • Willingness to learn other programs and platform in use for the business
