Job Summary

The Extrusion Operator - Machine Specialist is responsible for the operation and maintenance of machinery in a fast-paced production environment. This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain machinery, including changeover of tools and fixtures, startup/shut down of equipment, and material handling as needed.
  • Monitor and adjust process parameters to maintain quality throughout production runs.
  • Perform troubleshooting and repair of minor issues, with the ability to expand learning on more complex repairs.
  • Communicate effectively with engineering and other teams to resolve technical issues.
  • Perform material handling duties as required.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associates degree preferred.
  • 1 year of experience with machine operations and maintenance.
  • Previous experience with plastic extrusion and material properties.
  • Familiarity with Quality Control procedures and equipment installation or troubleshooting.
  • Computer interface skills and experience.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate with colleagues.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associates degree in a related field.
  • Experience with equipment maintenance and basic mechanical/electrical repair.
  • Familiarity with Quality Control procedures and equipment installation or troubleshooting.
  • Computer interface skills and experience.
Work Environment

This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment, with frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts and occasional exposure to hot or cold weather, and wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment ranges from moderate to occasionally loud.
