This Position is Eligible for a Sign-On Bonus of $2,000
$1,000 payable on the next scheduled paycheck following 30 days of employment
$1,000 payable upon completion of the conditional employment period, typically six months in duration.
Note: Sign-On Bonus payment will be subject to required payroll taxes
Eligibility: Must work 20 or more hours per week to qualify
Employee must maintain good standing and active status for payment eligibility

Compensation
Minimum Starting Hourly Rate: $16.22/hr
Maximum Starting Hourly Rate: Dependent on Qualifications

Position Summary

Under the guidance of a Certified Behavior Analyst, this role provides direct support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) who are experiencing crises or are at risk of crises. The specialist will manage a specialized caseload focusing on clients with behavioral challenges. Responsibilities include implementing behavioral strategies and therapeutic supports as directed by Crisis and Behavior Support staff. The role also involves contributing to the development of Behavior Support Plans and Therapeutic Support Plans, as well as assisting in the formulation of behavioral strategies based on client assessments. Active participation in a Wrap-Around services team is essential, along with meeting clients according to a predetermined schedule, initiating behavioral strategies, and documenting progress notes. Services may be delivered in various settings, including clients' homes or community locations. Willingness to travel within the service area is required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement behavioral strategies as outlined in the Therapeutic Support Plan/Behavior Support Plan, based on assessments from Behavior Support and Crisis Intervention staff.
  • Conduct parent training as specified in the Therapeutic Support Plan/Behavior Support Plan.
  • Maintain face-to-face contact with clients on the assigned caseload as per the established frequency.
  • Submit service tickets and progress notes within seven calendar days for data entry.
  • Evaluate behavior data logs to identify potential behavioral strategies.
  • Participate in planning team meetings to develop and update support plans.
  • Prepare materials for clients receiving behavior support services in various settings.
  • Maintain compliance with all required training.
  • Facilitate lessons and group activities to enhance socialization and self-advocacy skills.
  • Exhibit high ethical standards and reliability in attendance and punctuality.
  • Engage in professional development through required training and continuing education.
  • Frequent driving within the service area is necessary.
Qualifications

Experience/Education/Certification
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred experience in direct care with individuals with autism or behavioral challenges.
  • Experience and education may be interchangeable.
Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles and cultural sensitivity.
  • Ability to implement program strategies as directed by licensed personnel.
  • Active participation in planning meetings to assess client progress.
  • Effective communication and collaboration with team members regarding case status.
  • Calm and prompt response to crisis situations and maladaptive behaviors.
  • Timely and accurate completion of documentation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks required by the job.
