Overview:

The Pipeline Project Engineer will become an integral part of the Project Execution Team, focusing on significant natural gas pipeline integrity projects, retrofits, replacements, and hydrotesting operations.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide essential project support across various responsibilities.
  • Comprehend project scope, budget, and timelines.
  • Assist in the initial technical scope development.
  • Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders on all project-related tasks.
  • Conduct record research and gather information at client site offices.
  • Deliver engineering outputs in accordance with company standards.
  • Lead and coordinate design efforts for projects.
  • Manage activities related to technical advancements, scheduling, and resolution of engineering design challenges.
  • Review design documents for constructability and accuracy at various design stages.
  • Work alongside the Project Manager to select specialized design options.
  • Oversee drawings produced by team members.
  • Direct the integration of technical activities and deliverables.
  • Facilitate client meetings with stakeholders and vendors.
  • Monitor project timelines to ensure timely execution.
  • Ensure all tasks are performed safely, efficiently, and to high-quality standards.
  • Coordinate with the project team to address potential risks.
  • Evaluate and approve design modifications, specifications, and drawing releases.
  • Assess alternative evaluation methods and outside support needs.
  • Apply engineering principles to analyze and resolve issues.

Qualifications:
  • Experience in the gas sector is essential.
  • Experience in planning distribution work is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in an accredited engineering program or relevant field experience.
  • 2-8 years of engineering experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with design and visualization software, such as AutoCAD.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Teams.
  • Ability to interpret documents, safety protocols, and operational manuals.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good problem-solving abilities and decision-making comfort.
  • Ability to draft routine reports and correspondence.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt with self-motivation.

Additional Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of CFR 49 Parts 192 and 195.
  • Familiarity with ASME/ANSI B314 and B31.8 codes and regulations.
  • Engineer-in-Training certification.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License.
  • Experience with SAP and Citrix.
  • Understanding of Cathodic Protection.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Field experience in pipelines, cathodic protection, construction, or related areas is required.
