Job Title: Director of Strategic Development, Americas

The Director of Strategic Development, Americas, plays a pivotal role in driving business growth and expansion in the Americas region. This position oversees large accounts and sales programs, ensuring the development of new business opportunities while maintaining existing relationships and increasing revenue based on approved budgetary requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify and qualify new customers to maintain a target list of at least 25 qualified pipeline opportunities.
  • Provide strategic input to management to respond to changing market conditions, improve internal efficiency, and maximize results.
  • Maintain strong professional relationships with existing customers, including regular customer business reviews.
  • Anticipate and address evolving customer needs.
  • Support overseas campaigns and visitor requirements.
  • Contribute to the attainment of company goals and objectives aligned with the Hellmann Sales Strategy.
  • Ensure timely submission of bids to Tender Management for proper completion.
  • Prepare client quotations and presentation of proposals.
  • Maintain accurate client records and commercial activity in the Hellmann customer relationship management (CRM) system.
  • Update CRM with activities as per company guidelines.
  • Manage approximately 25 target customers.
  • Travel as required.
  • Act as a liaison between customers and operational staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Logistics/Supply Chain, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of related experience in sales, marketing, and customer service.
  • Proven track record of increasing sales year over year.
  • Minimum 6 years of sales experience in freight forwarding.
  • Proficient knowledge of all Hellmann products and Partner network.

  • Analytical skills / problem-solving ability.
  • Advanced sales, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Advanced communication skills to effectively present information and respond to sensitive inquiries and complaints.
  • Proficient in world geography, import/export documentation, and Incoterms.
Physical Demands:
  • Frequently required to stand and walk.
  • Regularly required to sit for extended periods.
  • Regularly uses arms to reach, hands and fingers for computer and phone use.
  • Speaking clearly and listening for heavy phone contact.
  • Requires close-up and computer screen distance vision ability.
  • Requires occasional overnight travel.
