Santa Clara, California, United States AmazonWebServices Full time

Amazon Web Services (AWS) stands as the leading and most widely utilized cloud platform globally, providing over 200 fully featured services from data centers around the world.

With millions of clients—including rapidly growing startups, major corporations, and prominent government entities—leveraging AWS to reduce expenses, enhance agility, and accelerate innovation.

The Product Marketing team is tasked with crafting clear, highly differentiated, and engaging positioning and messaging for AWS and its offerings. We narrate the most significant and intriguing stories of AWS to inform customers about the possibilities of building on our platform.

As a Product Marketing Manager focusing on Amazon Serverless and Kubernetes – Developer Experience, you will have the chance to define and implement the marketing and go-to-market strategy for leading services such as AWS Lambda, Amazon Elastic Container Service (ECS), Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS), AWS Fargate, AWS Step Functions, and Amazon EventBridge.

Your role will involve creating engaging content to assist customers, particularly developers, in understanding their use cases and value propositions, as well as developing the appropriate marketing programs to enhance awareness, developer engagement, service adoption, and retention.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the formulation and execution of marketing strategies, messaging, content, campaigns, and thought leadership for AWS Modern compute services, including Serverless and Container.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to translate key functionalities and benefits into product marketing messages.
  • Develop and create compelling audience-specific messages, content, and tools (such as presentations, whitepapers, infographics, webinars, customer success stories, product videos, and how-to guides).
  • Partner with various service and cross-functional AWS teams to develop and implement joint messaging, content, campaigns, and events.
  • Design and execute innovative product marketing activities that effectively reach target audiences.
  • Manage website and social media content.
  • Work collaboratively across AWS with groups such as engineering, digital marketing, sales, business development, and evangelists to achieve business objectives.
  • Oversee service and feature launches as applicable and drive awareness and adoption of new releases.

A Day in the Life: The product marketing team focuses on creating compelling positioning and marketing content to support product launches and campaigns aimed at driving awareness and adoption of cloud computing services. We are proactive in developing outstanding marketing assets (e.g., websites, videos, success stories, blogs, presentations, print materials, sales enablement tools, etc.). Our team collaborates effectively and supports one another as workloads fluctuate, enabling us to manage time and prioritize multiple tasks to deliver high-quality outputs.

About the Team: AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth across a diverse range of clients, from small and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers, including those in the public sector.

About AWS: AWS values diverse experiences and encourages candidates to apply even if they do not meet all qualifications listed in the job description. We believe that unconventional career paths and alternative experiences should not deter anyone from applying.

Why AWS? As the most comprehensive and widely adopted cloud platform, AWS has pioneered cloud computing and continues to innovate, which is why customers from the most successful startups to Global 500 companies trust our extensive suite of products and services to power their businesses.

Inclusive Team Culture: At AWS, we foster a culture of inclusion that celebrates our differences. Our employee-led affinity groups promote an environment where everyone can feel proud of their unique backgrounds. We host ongoing events and learning experiences that inspire us to embrace our individuality.

Mentorship & Career Growth: We are committed to raising our performance standards as we strive to become Earth's Best Employer. Here, you will find abundant knowledge-sharing, mentorship, and other career-advancing resources to help you grow into a well-rounded professional.

Work/Life Balance: We prioritize work-life harmony, believing that success at work should not come at the expense of personal life. Our culture emphasizes flexibility, allowing our employees to thrive both at work and at home.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience.
  • Experience in partnership and product marketing.
  • Proficiency in using data and metrics to measure impact and identify improvements.
  • Background in software, SaaS, or DevOps, or 2+ years of post-MBA management consulting experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience presenting ideas to various organizational levels to gain support for initiatives.
  • Proven track record of owning and driving large-scale cross-functional programs.
  • Familiarity with Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts, and pivot tables).
