Community Engagement and Partnerships Specialist

MOTA is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Community Outreach and Relations Specialist. This role will play a critical part in building and maintaining relationships with community stakeholders, including neighborhood organizations, civic groups, and residents.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the District of Columbia and its eight Wards, with a proven track record of engaging communities and developing effective partnerships. They will be responsible for coordinating services among District agencies, analyzing data to identify priorities, and developing and implementing work plans to address persistent problems.

Key Responsibilities- Establish and maintain relationships with community stakeholders, including neighborhood organizations, civic groups, and residents.
- Coordinate services among District agencies to ensure timely responses to neighborhood concerns.
- Analyze data to identify priorities and develop and implement work plans to address persistent problems.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive service program, including partnerships with community-based organizations and businesses.
- Prepare weekly progress reports to the Director and participate in related conferences, meetings, and training seminars.
- Documented connections to the District of Columbia, with particular work or organizing experience in one of the eight Wards of the District.
- Knowledge of the program services provided through all partnering agencies, including agencies of the District of Columbia government, community groups, and non-profit organizations.
- Knowledge of neighborhood organizations, civic groups, tenant associations, Advisory Neighborhood Commissioners, faith-based organizations, and schools to establish links to develop and maintain a comprehensive service program.
- Ability to organize and manage projects; to review, analyze, and evaluate data; and to prepare analytical reports.
- Ability to communicate both orally and in writing, and to utilize tact and persuasion in gaining acceptance of the program views.
