Position Overview
Dynacraft, a subsidiary of PACCAR, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Intern to join our team. This role is pivotal in enhancing our manufacturing capabilities and will be based in McKinney, TX.

Role Responsibilities
The selected candidate will:
  • Collaborate with New Business Development teams to gain insights into the requirements for new products.
  • Conduct research on manufacturing methodologies.
  • Design efficient workflows and material arrangements.
  • Evaluate engineering designs for manufacturability and suggest necessary modifications.
  • Communicate project status effectively to plant management.
  • Support initiatives related to Industry 4.0 and emerging technologies.
  • Research suppliers, assess product offerings, and recommend sourcing strategies.
  • Draft RFQs, RFPs, and Design Build Agreements (DBAs).
  • Issue Purchase Orders and monitor vendor performance regarding quality and delivery timelines.
  • Oversee the installation and commissioning of new equipment, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
  • Develop training materials and work instructions for operators.
  • Utilize continuous improvement techniques to enhance production lines until performance metrics are achieved.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers and Maintenance teams to transfer knowledge on production line support.
  • Document the design and implementation processes of production systems.
  • Conduct feasibility tests and proof-of-concept evaluations.
  • Create production layouts using AutoCAD and Creo.
  • Perform Line Balancing, Time Studies, and Rack Face Layout analyses.

Candidate Qualifications
Ideal candidates will possess:
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • The capacity to manage multiple tasks and make independent decisions under pressure.
  • A proactive and self-motivated approach to work.
  • Familiarity with hand and power tools for machinery assembly and repair.
  • Proficiency in PC applications, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, ProEngineer, CATIA, or CREO is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as C#, Visual Basic, Python, Java, JavaScript, or PLC Programming is highly desirable.

Educational Requirements
Candidates must be actively pursuing a degree in Engineering or a related STEM field. Six Sigma certification is preferred.
