About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic team member to join our Raytheon Technologies team as a Senior Automation Systems Engineer. This role will be responsible for executing automation projects within our McKinney factory, working closely with local factory leadership, manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, operations, supply chain, and front-end business automation lead to execute automation development and deployment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, deploy, validate, and sustain automation systems in a factory setting with emphasis on electrical controls, including automation systems, torque controllers, robots, vision systems, PLCs, etc.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate automation systems and electromechanical/mechatronic systems.
  • Develop and maintain Ignition development expertise.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry standards, including Electrical Standards (NFPA79, National Electric Code, UL508A), and automation programming environments (ladder logic, function block, and Python).
  • Lead/manage engineers and technical trades on project teams, demonstrating strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Drive Change Management projects and deliver results, with experience working in Agile teams and SAP Manufacturing Execution Systems.
  • Familiarity with Industry 4.0/Smart Factory concepts and Digital Manufacturing Simulation.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of professional experience in engineering, manufacturing, operations, and/or automation.
  • Typically requires a University Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued Secret security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a Secret security clearance.
