Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Clinical Specialist

About the Opportunity
Oregon Health & Science University is seeking a dynamic and compassionate Advanced Practice Provider to join our Pediatric Hematology/Oncology team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary care team, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered care to children with cancer and blood disorders.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide collaborative and multidisciplinary care with a team of attending physicians, resident and fellow trainees, nurses, and medical assistants.
- Manage and improve the daily operations of the Infusion Center, including optimizing patient safety, patient volumes, space utilization, clinical workflows, and improving the family/patient care experience.
- Conduct pre-infusion office visits and oversee the transfusion of blood products and the infusion of chemotherapy, iron, IV IgG and other pharmaceutical agents.
- Manage acute clinical issues that may arise in the Infusion Center, including infusion reactions and anaphylaxis, and ensure that all orders are complete and signed.
Requirements
- Master's Degree or higher as required by specific Advanced Provider role.
- Current & Active Physician Associate/Assistant license for State of Oregon.
- Current Pediatric Primary/Acute Dual Trained license for the state of Oregon.
- State of Oregon Nurse Practitioner Prescriptive Privileges.
- Appropriate National board certification.
- Current active DEA license.
- Ability to manage a heavy workload with multiple priorities and inflexible deadlines.
- Ability to communicate effectively, verbally, and in writing.
- Proficient in the use of computing hardware and software, including personal computing equipment, electronic medical record, word processing, and spreadsheet software.
- Regular and consistent attendance at work.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as an APP in complex medical or pediatric subspecialty care.
- Experience as an APP in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology.
