Function/Duties of Position

We are looking for a motivated individual to join our Ambulatory Pediatric Hematology/Oncology and Infusion Center teams. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including attending physicians, residents, nurses, and medical assistants, to deliver comprehensive care.

The Infusion Center is responsible for providing nearly 5,000 infusion and transfusion services annually, catering to various pediatric specialties. The APP will play a crucial role in managing the daily operations of the Infusion Center, focusing on patient safety, workflow optimization, and enhancing the overall patient experience.

The APP will conduct pre-infusion consultations, oversee transfusions, and manage acute clinical situations that may arise, ensuring all medical orders are properly executed.

Opportunities for involvement in quality improvement initiatives, educational endeavors, research, and advocacy for children’s health will be available. OHSU is committed to fostering the professional growth of its faculty members, with pathways for academic advancement.

Participation in educational conferences and didactic sessions is expected, as teaching is a vital aspect of our mission.

Required Qualifications

Master's Degree or higher as mandated by the specific Advanced Provider role, along with:

  • Current and active Physician Associate/Assistant license for the State of Oregon and National Board Certification.
  • Current Pediatric Primary/Acute Dual Trained license for the State of Oregon and Nurse Practitioner Prescriptive Privileges.
  • Active DEA license.
  • Ability to manage a demanding workload with competing priorities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in computing hardware and software, including electronic medical records and word processing applications.
  • Consistent attendance and reliability.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience as an APP in complex medical or pediatric subspecialty care.
  • Experience in Pediatric Hematology-Oncology.
