Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nursing Assistant

Oregon Health & Science University stands as a leading healthcare institution in the region. The Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nursing Assistant (CNA) plays a crucial role within the healthcare team across various settings at OHSU. This position involves delivering direct or general nursing care to patients throughout their healthcare journey, under the supervision of a licensed nurse and in accordance with state regulations. The CNA is dedicated to supporting patients, their families, nursing personnel, and other healthcare staff to ensure the provision of safe and high-quality care, aligned with the mission and vision of Doernbecher Children's Hospital and OHSU.
Key Responsibilities
$3,000 Hiring Bonus available for eligible candidates
- Facilitate patient admissions and discharges
- Accurately measure and record vital signs and weight
- Complete all unit-specific CNA documentation in the patient's medical record, including admissions, daily care, vital signs, weight, intake and output, and discharge information
- Assist patients with essential hygiene, mobility, transportation, dietary needs, and other personal care requirements
- Promote patient and family-centered care
- Identify and report potential compliance issues as per the Code of Conduct
- Exhibit ethical behavior, uphold professional standards, and demonstrate personal integrity
- Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Current Oregon CNA1 Certification at the time of hire
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at the time of hire, issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
