Workskill is seeking a Metal Fabrication Specialist.

Reporting directly to management, the specialist will assist in the setup and support of ongoing manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities:
Entry Level:
  • Adhering to stringent safety protocols, including the use of protective gear.
  • Consistently demonstrating proficiency in MIG, Flux, and TIG welding techniques.
  • Joining various metals through welding processes.
  • Fitting, tacking, and welding components together.
  • Understanding and applying different welding methodologies.
  • Inspecting equipment post-welding and notifying maintenance of any issues.
  • Planning and preparing for welding tasks prior to execution.
  • Familiarity with welding symbols is essential.
  • Measuring, cutting, fitting, and welding metals to achieve specified designs.
  • Exhibiting teamwork by collaborating effectively with colleagues and responding constructively to feedback.

IMPORTANT: Entry Level Welders must successfully complete the two welding assessments within two days of starting.

Hardwire / Carbon Steel:
Vertical and overhead.
Types: Tee Joint, Flare Bevel weld, and Butt joint weld

Flux Core / Carbon Steel:
3/8" Carbon Steel Plate Coupon Set
45-degree bend with backing plate

Upon successful completion of the third welding assessment, candidates may advance to Level II without any time constraints.

Level II:
  • Certification in Aluminum, Stainless Steel, Carbon Steel, and MIG welding (minimum of two required).
  • Completing fit, tack, and weld tasks for fabrications.
  • Interpreting blueprints and engineering plans to guide welding projects.
  • Generating a cut list based on blueprints.

Qualifications / Experience / Skills and Attributes:
  • Prior experience in welding and fabrication.
  • Two to three years of experience in a warehouse or shop environment.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and courteously with customers, team members, and management.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Capacity to take initiative and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Experience in a fast-paced work setting.
  • Physical ability to walk and move around for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift and handle objects weighing 50 lbs or more as necessary.
  • Must pass the company's welding certification.
