Job Responsibilities and Qualifications

The Registered Nurse in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit is responsible for delivering exceptional, patient-focused care. Collaborating with healthcare providers, the RN will manage pre-operative and post-operative care, ensuring a superior patient experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate patient conditions upon admission and throughout each shift, promptly reporting any changes.
  • Execute medical procedures as directed by healthcare providers.
  • Accurately document all care provided in the patient's medical records.
  • Administer prescribed medications and monitor patient responses.
  • Maintain proficiency in medications, procedures, and equipment pertinent to cardiac and medical-surgical care.
Required Qualifications:
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program is mandatory.
  • Valid Registered Nurse License in Texas or a Multi-State Compact License (Texas RN License required within 90 days for Compact License holders).
  • Preferred: At least one year of experience in an acute care environment.
  • Current BLS Certification (American Heart Association).
  • ACLS Certification (American Heart Association) must be obtained within six months of hire.
