Position Summary
The Talent Development Manager will spearhead and execute talent initiatives, programs, and technological solutions that are in line with SPI LLC's strategic growth goals. This position is crucial in nurturing a culture of excellence, engagement, and ongoing learning throughout the organization. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Human Resources, the Talent Development Manager will oversee several key functions, including recruitment, succession planning, organizational structuring, learning and development, performance evaluation, employee engagement, onboarding, internship initiatives, career progression, and competency enhancement.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment:
- Lead and supervise the recruitment team to attract, select, and retain exceptional talent.
- Formulate and implement recruitment strategies to fulfill the organization's changing requirements.
- Ensure the recruitment process is efficient, equitable, and adheres to best practices.
Performance Evaluation:
- Oversee the creation and execution of performance evaluation systems to foster accountability and achieve results.
- Provide support and guidance to managers in establishing performance objectives and conducting assessments.
Succession Planning:
- Design and implement succession planning initiatives to identify and cultivate future leaders.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to maintain a robust talent pipeline.
Learning & Development:
- Work with various departments and stakeholders to identify needs, set objectives, and design programs that support broader organizational goals.
- Oversee HR learning and development tools and initiatives that promote employee growth and career advancement.
- Assess and measure the effectiveness of training programs to ensure they meet desired outcomes.
- Encourage a culture of continuous learning and development within the organization.
Employee Engagement:
- Develop and implement employee engagement surveys to evaluate workplace satisfaction and pinpoint areas for improvement.
- Execute strategies to boost employee engagement and retention.
Onboarding:
- Design and manage a comprehensive onboarding program to ensure new hires are effectively integrated into the company culture and operations.
Internship Program:
- Create and oversee an internship program that attracts and nurtures high-potential talent for future roles within the organization.
Career Development:
- Collaborate with employees and managers to develop personalized career and development plans.
- Provide coaching and resources to facilitate employees' career advancement.
Competency Framework:
- Establish and maintain a competency framework that aligns with organizational objectives and guides talent development efforts.
Organizational Structuring:
- Analyze and refine organizational structures to support business objectives.
- Work with leaders to develop workforce plans, assess staffing and skill needs, identify gaps, and provide actionable solutions.
Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to relevant laws and regulations concerning hiring, promotions, and training.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- A minimum of five years of experience in talent management or learning and development, including experience in recruitment management.
- Proven experience in developing and executing successful talent initiatives.
- Strong strategic thinking and leadership capabilities with the ability to influence and collaborate across all organizational levels.
- Excellent facilitation and presentation skills.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, organizational skills, and change management abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Experience in a multi-site workforce environment is essential; experience in the distribution or construction sector is highly desirable.
Work Environment:
Hybrid role with both office and remote work options.
Physical Demands:
Moderate walking, standing, and/or climbing; light lifting and carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching. Must be able to lift a minimum of 30 lbs.
Travel Requirements:
Light to moderate travel may be necessary.
Exemption Status:
This position is exempt.
