Job Title: Digital Capture Technician Level II

Job Summary:

The Digital Capture Technician Level II will play a key role in overseeing the day-to-day responsibilities of digital capture jobs. This includes working with clients to ensure their needs are met, managing files, troubleshooting issues, and communicating job-related information to the Digital Capture Manager and Post Production Department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional communication with the Digital Capture Manager regarding any issues related to Splashlight services
  • Ensure a smooth workflow for clients on set by managing image files and following proper file naming conventions
  • Troubleshoot on-set issues and provide expert support for photographers and clients
  • Assume responsibility for all equipment in the camera bag, ensuring it is in proper working order and returned in the same condition at the end of the day
  • Prepare and set up camera equipment and capture stations on set
  • Oversee the capture process to ensure all images are captured properly
  • Notate all necessary information for the Post Production Department to further manage image delivery
  • Upload files to the web and back up to central servers as needed
  • Process and deliver files, contact sheets, and prints on set as necessary
  • Stay up-to-date with digital equipment and systems
  • Help refine and update client workflows
  • Train new Digital Capture Technicians through shadow days
  • Work in the Digital Equipment Department and Post Department as needed, including research and development, equipment pickup, testing, and packing
  • Shoot castings, tech, and the Splashlight Photo Booth, as well as other non-revenue jobs assigned by Splashlight

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 2+ years of digital capture experience and customer/client service
  • Ability to detect and communicate advanced lighting issues
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple complex projects and priorities across multiple teams of people with a meticulous attention to detail
  • High comfort level working in a diverse environment
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Capture One Pro, Mac OSX, Adobe Photoshop
  • Advanced understanding of Profoto & Broncolor lighting systems
  • Proficient skills with Canon and Nikon systems and Proficient use of Phase and Hasselblad Medium format systems
  • Ability to assess and refine workflows
  • Understand basic retouching and demonstrate basic Photoshop skills
